Plans for the next phase

Hiho,

here is an update of what are the plans for the next weeks:

During the next days, two wikis will be set up on the toolserver by
toolserver admin Daniel Baur. We will use dumps of the dutch
Wikipedia, as these dumps are sufficiently small and dutch is
understandable by both germans and americans. Jörg will take care of
things there. As Jörg is human and needs sleep, we will give those who
might need access to the server exactly that. The wikis will have
different settings (aka german/english) and will be passwordprotected
to hide the development more than currently. Once things are as we
want them, we will give the password to a lot of people in a
controlled way and take the next step.

As far as I can see, Aaron and Jörg have worked themselves almost down
the priority list and partly progressed further. So, cheer them on :-)

I hope that this plan sounds reasonable?

Bye,

Philipp

This sounds great. Are you on board with the quality.wikipedia.org
deployment idea? If so, the page on internal could probably use some
editing.

I am not sure I understand what your plans are. Until now I thought
that we would do a closed beta, prepare press releases during that
time and then deploy the feature on de and maybe on en. If I
understand you right, you would want to do a closed beta, prepare the
press releases and then do an open beta which is advertised on
quality.wikipedia.org?

Concerning the page itself I have several doubts. For one thing,
starting the page like this is too technocratic and puts us in danger
of looking like we never cared about quality before. Maybe we should
tone down to a stable-versions-page and prepare a
quality.wikipedia.org page conceptually more thoroughly on internal?

On another note, I asked User:Sebmol to code us a vandalismbot. I
think that will come very handy in the betatest.

Bye,

Philipp
